Old Farm Road and Surrounding Area Life in Old Farm road is great with lots of
birdsong, wildlife and open space. Our Garden is over 150ft long! We have many song birds,
Woodpigeons, Blue Tits, Robins etc. We have had several Hedgehogs, including one which used to come
to our back door for scraps! Next door has a frog pond, with newts too. We think we also have
a fox, but not sure totally, but we'd not be surprised!

The house is set a way back from the road and we have a drive for
safe off road parking. Access to the side of the house is not shared, we just took the fence down between us and
the neighbours to give the property more open aspect, although the gates and fencing into the back garden at the
side is secure and lockable, perfect for preventing small children from wandering off. There's a park with
newly refurbished swings, slides and climbing frames that has a fence around it preventing dogs from fouling.
There's plenty of walks and cycling to be done and the Wey Navigation is about 10 minutes walk away making a lovely
stroll on a Summer's day. All in all we love it here, it's far enough out of Guildford that the houses are not
crammed in, but near enough to walk to the shops. We cannot stress how pleasant the road is, people often comment
"Oh, you live in Bellfields" and we say "NO!" not that Bellfields is THAT bad, our road is the other side of the
Woking Road which makes it... Well we never have tied it down, some Estate Agents say, "Jacobs Well" it's
defintiely not that, or "Slyfield Green", no! We don't live on the Trading Estate! So we just say Old Farm
Road and let other people decide. We love it here and would stay, it's just the 3 hours daily in school runs
are just boring, wasteful and tedious so we want to move closer to our Daughter's school.

Location and Access Even though our drive holds two
cars we are a one car household, and regularly use public transport taking the bus into Guildford (10 minute
journey) and the Train into London (40 minute journey) and find this easy and convenient. When we do use our car
access to major roads is excellent, with the A3 being less than a 5 minute journey and the M25 less than 15 minutes
away which gives you access to London, the home counties and beyond. Heathrow is 35 minutes away (peak times
excepted!), Gatwick is 45 minutes away (again maybe more during rush hour) and Portsmouth is just about an hour and
20 minutes away. Guildford is the county town of Surrey and is therefore well catered for, with a thriving
nightlife, excellent shopping facilities with well known high street chains as well as designer shops and local
boutiques and businesses. It also has some great restaurants; Loch Fyne, Yellow River Cafe, Wagamama, The Thai
Terrace, Rumwong (both superb) and many others plus great bars, pubs and entertainment. Providing something for
everyone just a short distance away.
Conclusion Within a short space of time we settled
into our house and turned it into a home, it was very poor decoratively which is something we have worked hard to
change and bring up to our taste and standards. However we feel that although we are sad to move it is the right
time and know that whoever is lucky enough to become the new owners that they will appreciate this house, it's
neighbours and location as much as we do/did and will easily stamp their own taste, style and personality on it
with far less blood, sweat and tears (and money!) than we have. So feel free to explore the pages within and get a
flavour of what to expect when you come visit us and take a tour around our humble abode. If you have any questions
or want to book an appontiment to come and look around then feel free to email or phone us to arrange a mutually
agreeable time to come and look around.
